Standards Development

·          Long term participant in international standards development for telecommunications and distributed systems at both the technical and leadership levels

·          Member of the Canadian Standards Association Steering Committee on Information Technology, CSA Committee on Open Systems;  Standards Council of Canada delegate to ISO/JTC1/SC21 and ISO/TC68/SC5

·          Founding member of the Canadian Interest Group on Open Systems (CIGOS) – Director 1987-1994; President 1990-1992

·          Represented the CN Railway, CIBC and The PSC Group on the CSA committees;  Attendance at standards meetings supported by the Communications Research Centre of the Canadian Federal Government for over five years

·          Key Canadian contributor to the OSI architecture and the QoS framework definition
